The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index climbed 2.1 percent at the close in Kuala Lumpur, the most since May 2013, reversing earlier losses of as much as 1.9 percent. The gauge has fallen 17 percent from the July 8, 2014 peak, on the cusp of a bear market. The ringgit strengthened 1.2 percent, halting a four-day drop.
